Canuc Resources - completes seismic survey at the East Sudbury Project to identify exploration targets
Canuc Resources Corporation (TSX-V: CDA, OTCQB: CNUCF, WKN: A41V6H) has provided an update on its East Sudbury Project (ESP) following the successful completion of an innovative mineral exploration seismic survey along the northern section of the McLaren Lake Fault Zone.
The East Sudbury Project is the firm’s flagship asset and spans 20,078 hectares, located within the Greater Sudbury Region of Ontario - one of the world’s premier and most storied mining districts. The asset is centred approximately 20 kilometres northeast of the prolific Sudbury Mining Camp and near to the extensive infrastructure of the adjacent Sudbury Mining District.
Innovative 3-D seismic survey to identify exploration targets
Seismic imaging firm OptiSeis Solutions recently completed the survey along the northern section of the McLaren Lake Fault Zone on the East Sudbury Project. This is said to have delivered a rich, high-quality subsurface dataset that will now be used for targeting large-scale, regional mineral potential along the McLaren Lake Fault Zone. The findings are expected to result in direct actionable exploration targets for prospective MIAC (Metasomatic Iron Alkali Calcic) and IOCG (Iron Oxide Copper Gold) deposit types which may be identified proximal to the historical copper and gold mine workings along the McLaren Lake Fault Zone.
Canuc has said that it will follow up promptly on the targets that result from this work, and also on those that result from an upcoming property-wide gravity gradiometric survey which covers all four of the fault structures that transect the ESP property, in pursuit of a transformational regional exploration outcome.

A Standout Scientific Collaboration
The seismic survey program covered approximately 13.5 kilometers of total line length - with every metre of seismic acquisition conducted along existing roadways to minimise environmental disturbance and community impact. Field operations were completed in just seven days and executed safely and without a single incident.
In conjunction with the surface program, a Vertical Seismic Profile (VSP) was acquired by government natural resources department Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). The VSP recorded seismic energy on fibre-optic cable installed within three centrally located wellbores, capturing complementary datasets that may enhance subsurface characterisation and contribute to ongoing geoscience research.
Field acquisition services were provided by Echo Seismic Ltd., a Calgary-based geophysical contractor. A focused workforce of 11 personnel supported field operations, including two representatives from OptiSeis, with an additional two NRCan personnel onsite to support the VSP acquisition.

Canuc also holds a 100% interest in the San Javier Silver-Gold Project located in Sonora State, Mexico. The San Javier Silver-Gold Project spans 28 claims covering 1,052 hectares and evidences extensive silver, gold and copper mineralisation interpreted to be related to a mineral system that can form silver dominant IOCG and affiliated deposits.
Elsewhere, Canuc generates cash flow from natural gas production at its MidTex Energy Project located in Central West Texas, USA where it has an interest in eight producing natural gas wells and has rights for further in field developments. The company also receives a 4% Net Smelter Royalty from gold production at the Scadding Gold Tailings Project.
